Tokens are a representation of money you’ve paid to run tests on DCAL. Every test costs tokens to run, with most tests costing around 10 tokens per participant.
To schedule a test in your Caseload, or to add participants to a Research project, you need to have sufficient tokens.
DCAL token purchases fund our website maintenance and administration.
Instead of buying tokens pay-as-you-go basis, you may be able to reduce costs of frequent testing by purchasing a Subscription.
Per-Test Subscriptions allow you unlimited access to a single test for a year. The price of this is dependent on the test.
Unlimited Subscriptions allow you unlimited access to all tests for a year.

You can buy Tokens through the shop in quantities of 10 or 100 tokens. The price per 10 Tokens is £3.00 (VAT incl.).
Tokens may take up to 48 hours to arrive in your account.
You can buy Subscriptions through the shop.
Subscriptions make take up to 48 hours to be added to your account.
You may wish to transfer Tokens if you are part of a larger institution, or are collaborating on research with colleagues.
To transfer Tokens, go to your account, and click on Actions on the right-hand side of your subscription (this will be pay-as-you-go by default).
Click Transfer Tokens.
Enter the email address of the person you’d like to transfer Tokens to, and the number of Tokens.
Then click Next.
A confirmation screen will appear. Review the details and click Confirm.
Note: You will not be able to transfer Tokens to someone who does not have a DCAL account. If you try to do so, an error message will appear.
If this happens, check with the person you’re transferring the Tokens to that the email address you’ve entered is the correct address used for their DCAL account.
Refunds
If we receive your cancellation in writing no later than 24 hours after purchase, we will refund any amount you have paid to us for that license. An administration charge of 20% will be deducted. No refunds will be made for cancellations after 24 hours.
